Patience, please!

Divine Design, feminine, impatience, Law of Attraction, masculine, patience, trust

Now that we’ve moved through the Cosmic Moment of 12/21/12, we’re getting a better sense of how the overabundance of Divine Masculine energies has been showing up in our lives.

One of those ways is impatience.

For centuries, the masculine attribute of intellect has driven the invention of technologies that let us do things faster and easier. (Not that invention is purely masculine; I fully credit these creators with a good dose of intuitive inspiration, too.) As a result we can have information now, hot food now, water now.

We get so trained to expect what we want to appear now that we forget that most things actually require time. We forget that here in linear time, non-physical energy changes faster than I can snap my fingers, but getting people and resources to line up in the physical world takes time. It’s something we must allow.

With my peeps I understand the other place that impatience comes from. In fact, “other place” may be the perfect choice of words: We get impatient because while we dwell here in this place of linear time and space, we are also strongly connected with higher dimensions where time is does not exist in the way we think about it.

As the veil has become thinner, we’ve become more aware (subconsciously, and perhaps consciously) that there are other places where we can manifest instantaneously. Communication happens immediately by intuition, and matter can be transported and shifted with little effort. By comparison, this third dimension is frustratingly slow and inefficient.

Do you recognize impatience?

The most obvious way that impatience shows up is when we demand fast, perfect action from ourselves or the world around us. Fretting about slow traffic or unreturned phone calls is a pretty good sign of impatience, right?

Setting a deadline without knowing if it can be reached is also a sign of impatience. This, by the way, is a rite of passage for every student of manifestation and the Law of Attraction. We believe for a while that if we simply state that something will happen by a certain date, it will; eventually we learn that there’s more to it than that.

I fell into this trap with my business. It’s my dream to expand Zenquility into a larger healing center – more than just me in my basement home office. Over a year ago I started planning for this expansion and announcing to everyone I knew (and some people I didn’t know) that the new location would be open by the end of 2012.

Well, we’re into 2013, and yet here I still am in my basement.

The truth is, I was so impatient in wanting this project to happen that I moved my thoughts faster than the world around me could catch up with my ideas. And not just the world around me – my own subconscious wasn’t as caught up to the idea as I had hoped. As much as I tried to push and force the idea through sheer will, I could not make this manifestation appear any faster than all the resources could be ready.

The key to finding patience

In order to release impatience and receive patience, you need to understand the underlying issue: trust. Impatience comes from distrust: “It has to happen now, otherwise it might not happen at all.”

This applies to every scenario of wanting yourself, someone else, or the world in general to serve your request. It could imply a distrust in the reliability of the person, or a fear that some “window of opportunity” will be missed.

As we embrace more of the Divine Feminine into our lives, we will experience a stronger sense of allowing. An important aspect of this is acknowledging Divine Design. Whether you imagine it as a single being waving his baton and conducting the orchestra of the Universe, or as the convergence of the desires of every being that creates synchronicities, there is definitely an order or design to how things come together in our Universe.

Frustratingly enough, we usually see only a tip of the iceberg that represents the entire design of how things are coming together for everyone’s highest good. Not knowing all the details can be infuriating to the masculine intellect, which wants everything now. Finding patience, then, requires an act of defiance against the intellect – a commitment to retrain yourself not to be swayed by the distrusting thoughts of the mind.

Words are some of my favorite tools for stepping into a patient mindset. When I catch myself being impatient, I have a few phrases that have become like mantras for patience:

  • “I trust that everything will work out for the best.”
  • “It’s a good thing that I don’t have to know how it’s all gonna work out.”
  • “Despite all evidence to the contrary, I know everything is going to be OK.”

Any of these phrases can help you let go of the reins and let Divine Design do its work to bring you what you want, instead of you having to chase after them. With a patient mindset, you’ll be able to hold onto your desires and dreams for exactly as long as it takes for them to manifest – not a second shorter or longer.

Your Turn

What’s an area of your life where you frequently express impatience? What can you do this week to shift to a mindset of patience? Take this opportunity to make a new commitment, and leave a comment below to tell us about it.
