Have you ever noticed that when you are dreading something or dealing with an emotional issue, all of a sudden you catch a cold or get a stomach ache? Anxiety can be accompanied by stomach pain. Stress can bring on a headache. Sometimes just the thought of doing something I’m nervous about can make me nauseous enough to want to go lay down.
Science has found that certain emotions are known to be associated with pain or uncomfortableness of the body. The same areas of the brain are activated whether it is emotional pain or physical pain. Your body responds to the way you think and feel.
Emotions are energy. When you feel an emotion and you hold it in, you are trapping this energy. Sometimes this energy will result in a physical dis-ease. And holding in these emotions can take a physical toll.
