The Surprising Truth About Energy Vampires

“People keep stealing my energy.”

“She is such an energy vampire.”

After doing this lightworker thing as long as I have been (since at least 2002), I’ve noticed that there are certain milestones that most people cross along their spiritual journey. Talking about “energy vampires” seems to be one of them.

And it makes sense how this would come up:

First, you learn that you have this thing called “energy.”

Then you start to notice that you don’t always feel like you have enough of it.

Or you read that the problems you’re having are because one of your chakras is lacking energy.

But you don’t know enough about energy to understand why you’re missing some…

…until you hear someone else talking about “energy vampires” – that is, people who seem to suck the life out of the people around them.

And you think, “Ah yes, that must be it. Someone else must be draining my energy.”

Naturally, you start to wonder who the energy vampires are in your life, and as soon as you start to look you absolutely will find them – because the reason that the words resonated with you in the first place is because people actually are sucking the energy from you.

Yes, I did confirm that: People are actually sucking the life force out of you.

But here’s the part I absolutely will not validate: the idea that you are a helpless victim in this scenario.

The surprising truth about energy vampires is that they are able to take your energy because you unconsciously agree to it.

As someone much wiser than me has said, “There are no victims, only volunteers.”

Of course, no one willingly gives up their life force, so what we’re talking about – them sucking, you agreeing to let them – is all happening on the subconscious level.

You, of course, have been unaware of this. My goal is to help you be aware, so that you can find your power to stop this pattern.

The big question is, Why? WHY would you agree to let anyone take your energy?

And the big answer is, Because there’s something you want more than your own energy.

The big answer is ALWAYS, because you secretly crave their love and validation.  You give away your energy to others, hoping that in turn they will love you, recognize you, believe that you’re worthy of their attention.

There are many ways that you might cooperate with an energy vampire:

• You give away your energy by literally handing over fragments of your aura.
• You give them too much of your time, including time you need to spending restoring your energy.
• You give too much consideration to their opinions when decided what to do with your life, in big decisions and small.
• You avoid conflict and confrontation with them, even when they are blatantly crossing your personal boundaries.

You might be inclined to deflect, asking, “But what about their role, Christina? Why aren’t you telling them to stop ‘vampiring’?”

There are two reasons:

1. They have no motivation to fix the imbalance, because they’re happy to have your energy. They’re not even aware that there is an imbalance.
2. Addressing it with you is acting in alignment with natural order of the Universe. The Universe will always naturally demand “more” – in this case, more power. The effective solution to any power problem MUST be adding more power where it has been lacking. It will never work to try taking power away from where it exists.

That is why I’m talking to you, who has created a void of power by giving it to “energy vampires.”

In order for you to discover your true Divine Power, someone had to help you get rid of all of the false sources of power that you had comfortably relied on.

Your Divine Power shows up when you live by your own rules, instead of someone else’s.

Your Divine Power shows up when you choose yourself over someone else.

Your Divine Power shows up when you step into the confrontation that’s needed to make things right, instead of away from it.

So, my friend, do whatever you need to do to stop cooperating with energy vampires. Speak up, stare them down, shove them in the chest – whatever it takes to make it clear (to yourself if no one else) that from now on you’re going to keep your energy right where it belongs, thank you very much! Right there within you!

I could have ended right there with a big, “You’ve got this! Hoo-rah!” But there’s another point to make.

To be honest, you probably don’t “got this.” Reclaiming your power after years of giving it to others is incredibly difficult. You’ve spent a lifetime using others as your source of love and vlidaAs hard as you try to maintain your boundaries and live life by your rules, one thing will always get in the way: that craving to be loved and validated.

You might not be aware that you have it. I talk to plenty of lightworkers who have done enough self-healing that they can proudly say, “I know I am worthy! I know I am loved!” And you may actually understand that consciously, but in the deepest part of your subconscious mind is a part of you that believes differently.

It’s called your Core Wound, and no matter how hard you try to live life by your own rules, you’ll always be fighting against it. As long as your Core Wound exists, it will always push you in the direction of seeking worthiness and love from others instead of finding it within yourself.
