The Power of Decision

decision, spiritual laws

You may noticed that I’ve written a lot lately about the Spiritual Laws – the laws by which our Universe naturally operates. I do this because when we know these laws and work in alignment with them, anything we want to do in life is not only easier but results in something better than we could have possibly imagined.

It’s one thing to understand the Laws intellectually, but the big question is, How does a person get into alignment with them?

The answer is relatively simple: Decide.

Call it whatever you want – decision, alignment, choice, etc. The fact is, before you make a real decision – while you’re stuck in indecision, weighing options, waffling, and waiting to feel perfectly good about something, nothing happens. You’re not giving the Universe anything to respond to, so it waits patiently for you to make a clear choice. It’s only when you make a choice and take some kind of action that your energy finally moves – and then everything else can move in response.

What are you giving the Universe to respond to? That depends on whether you’re choosing consciously or unconsciously. Unconscious choice (the kind you make the most) defaults to your subconscious, human, egoic self – which is limited to making choices based only on what you’ve experienced before. Plus, it is inclined toward fear, using the need for security as a mechanism to protect you – but in protecting you it keeps you limited. Therefore, unconscious decisions are likely to keep you small and safe instead of helping you expand.

Decisions made consciously, on the other hand, have the potential to be made from a higher place. While you can still make a conscious choice from fear, you can also choose to set fear aside and align with your Higher Self instead. Your Higher Self is already aware of everything that’s possible for you. It’s aware of all of your desires and everything that you’re connected to that is ready to help you manifest those desires. When you make a decision that isn’t based in fear, you allow your Higher Self to get to work leveraging those connections.

A real-life example

I witnessed the magic of this most recently during enrollment in the Money Mojo Mastery program. Throughout the process I spoke one-on-one with women entrepreneurs who are doing amazing work in service to the world, but whose business revenue doesn’t reflect the value of that service. Each of them spoke about their struggles with money and the dreams they had for their businesses, and what it would take to rise above the struggles and realize those dreams. When they concluded that joining the program was the right path for them, we hit the point that you might logically expect: Someone who is struggling with money could easily pull back and decide that they can’t afford to invest in another program, even if it could help them increase their cash flow.

But this is where the miracles happened for them: Instead of pulling back in fear, they each stepped forward with the bold decision to say Yes and find the money for the program. Every single one made the clear decision – not just an intention but the decision – that the money absolutely had to be there, and would not accept anything else as truth. In every single case, with zero exception, the money showed up. New clients appeared for them or invoices suddenly got paid. One woman summoned the courage to ask her family for support. Not one of them came back to me and said, “I couldn’t find the money after all.”  They all created miracles by deciding that the money had to be there.

That’s what it can look like every time you make a clear decision. When you align on all levels of your being – not just with your thoughts but with your feelings and your actions – when you make a decision and then take the action that comes from that decision, you invoke all the laws of the Universe to bring about the results that are in alignment with that decision.

Your turn

Your turn to share! What you are ready to decide for yourself right now? Not just set an intention, because sometimes when you do that, there’s a voice in the back of your head that doubts it will become real.

What are you ready to choose for yourself unequivocally, without wavering or wobbling, and move forward as if there is no possibility of your decision not being manifested? And what will it look like for you to move forward without doubt?

Tell me about it in the comments below.

  1. What a timely blog post! I’ve listed my beautiful home for sale – again – and am 80% sure I want to sell it. Or maybe 70%. Truth is, I raised my children in this home – it was (and still is, in some ways) my dream home, and I’ve lived here for 25 years. It’s clear that my family has different needs now, so rather than struggle against this, we’ve decided to sell, and manifest another dream home. I’m frustrated it hasn’t happened yet, and realize I must be blocking it by still loving my current home, feeling nostalgic, and worrying that I won’t be able to manifest something better, or that I’ll regret selling. So many conflicting feelings, but I’m clear overall that this is what I want. I think the fear results from having moved every three years as a kid, because my dad always wanted something better, and never felt satisfied where he was. I’m worried that I’m doing the same thing, even though I’ve lived in the same home for 25 years.

Here’s the insight I got from you: when I decide, what will I do differently. Yes!! I know exactly what I need to do – go through all my stuff and get rid of what’s no longer serving me. Declutter, so I won’t need to pack, move, store anything more than I need to. If I’m definitely moving, it’s time to get going, and deal with all the “to be dealt with” piles, that are filling shelves and bins and boxes. I have a basement FULL of indecision. No wonder it hasn’t happened. Thank you Christina!
